This amazing kitty is named Colonel Meow. His inherent awesomeness was just formally recognized by Guinness World Records when they awarded him with the distinction of being the cat with the world’s longest fur.

Colonel Meow, who received his name thanks to his “epic frown and fur,” is a three-year-old Himalayan-Persian cross-breed with grey fur that measures an astonishing nine inches in length. He lives in Los Angeles, CA with two humans named Anne Marie Avey and Eric Rosario, both of whom work together to brush the Colonel’s fur two to three times each week.

Anne Marie said: “We already knew that he was the best cat in the world, but to be recognised in the Guinness World Records book takes it to the next level.”

However, there is a considerable downside to her record-breaking cat:  “Literally everything in the house has hair on it, including us!  I feel like I’m always vacuuming!”

You can follow Colonel Meow’s furry adventures (and find lots more fantastic photos of him) via his his very own website, Facebook page and YouTube channel.
