A few months ago we posted about Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman’s giant inflatable rubber duck while it was floating in the waters of Hong Kong. The city of Shanghai recently created their own version of Florentijn Hofman’s famous rubber duckie by transforming a passenger boat into an enormous floating roast duck, complete with crispy brown skin and protruding drumsticks. The duck’s great big papier-mâché head rests peacefully upon the bow of the ship.

'The design process took place during Shanghai's scorching hot summer days, so we just thought: 'let's roast it”, designer Han Beishi told AFP.

This floating faux feast is also a functioning ferryboat responsible for transporting passengers to cultural performances around the Shanghai River for the Art Bund Project 2013.
