All of us at Archie McPhee were so happy to see Weird Al Yankovic wearing our Amazing Hypno Glasses on the cover of The Seattle Times! Plus, his new album Mandatory Fun is amazing. Our only disappointment is that he has a song called Tacky and we aren’t mentioned.

Jane Austen Toothpaste - It takes a well-mannered toothpaste to have a graceful and properly comported regime of dental health. If you want to attract a husband with a good yearly income, he’s going to be concerned about the status of your teeth. In our opinion, nothing captures the romance and incisive social observations of Jane Austen’s novels quite like a rose-flavored toothpaste. While you might think that the UK of the early 1800s is romantic, your own personal Mr. Darcy might prefer a bit more oral hygiene.

Sigmund Freud Toothpaste - Sigmund Freud is the father of mental health, why not use him for dental health as well? Sigmund Freud Toothpaste tastes like bananas. We’re not sure why we picked banana flavor, the other choices were daikon, carrots or cucumbers, but you’re welcome to analyze the decision. We do know for sure that it satisfies our oral fixation.

Last year we first featured the work of NY and LA-based Lifestyle Pet Photographer Seth Casteel, who created an awesome series of high-speed underwater photos of dogs diving in to fetch their tennis balls. Casteel is back with what might be an even more delightful series, because this time he’s photographed puppies in the middle of exuberant underwater lunges.

His latest book, entitled Underwater Puppies, is due to be released in September 2014. For now you can still order copies of his first book, Underwater Dogs, via Amazon.

Visit Seth Casteel’s Facebook page and Instagram account for many more of his hilarious underwater dog photos, prints of which are available via Zenfolio.

Because what isn’t awesome about this happy-go-derpy Parrotfish photobomb? That’s just what we thought too, it’s completely awesome. This infectiously happy fish swam into the frame in front of some Snuba divers near the Eastern Dry Rocks coral reef southwest of Key West, Florida.

In Tallinn, Estonia’s capitol city, the Estonian National Opera transformed the gates to their parking garage into enormous disembodied conductors’ hands gently holding long batons. You can see them again using Google Maps street view. Move the map around a bit and you’ll notice that there are more giant conductor hand gates than you can see in the photo above.
What an awesome way to admit people to the opera house. We hope some sort of music starts to play to the cue of the hands going back down after a car drives through the gate.
